I recently discovered a great little site Sparkapolooza. Each month they post a simple brief and give fans two weeks to submit something ‘creative’.

Or in their words:

“Sparkapolooza is a project about forcing those creative juices out. They’re there- they just get buried under day to day life. Now there’s two things to get them flowing again- a brief and a deadline.

It’s simple, it’s an open brief, so all you have to do is respond creatively and submit before the deadline. It can be anything…a photo, poem, yoga pose…whatever floats your boat.”

This months brief was “What happens if I choose the blue pill?” I submitted a short story bashed out in exactly 15 minutes. Wish I’d proofed it first (naughty) but still nice to see it ‘out there’.
